Hagaplan
In the western part of Hagastaden, near Karolinska University Hospital, a new square has been created, Hagaplan. The new square is the district's largest public urban space and also serves as the entrance square for the hospital. With 9,000 square meters of public square, there are plenty of seating areas in the best sunlight, along with a large number of trees and lush flower beds. A 36-meter water staircase and the artwork "Inflyttarna" by Johanna Karlin contribute to making the place vibrant.
The paving of the square consists of granite slabs in two different colors laid in a pattern that, from above, looks like a gigantic thumbprint. A connection to research and life science in Hagastaden. The square is a central public transport hub with several bus lines meeting here and from 2028 also a subway.
